Chasey's Birthday...

My baby turned 11 today :( Does it get any easier watching your kids get older? She is becoming such a beautiful little lady!!! We went to her favorite restaurant - Applebees. On Sunday, we are taking her entire class to a movie (matinee, of course!). This is her last year to have a big party like that. Our tradition has been that once you hit middle school, no more big parties, just a friend or two over. Here are a few pics from tonight's supper:
Embarassed by the singers? I don't think so! Otherwise, why would she choose this place year after year after year?!*
And she didn't even share her dessert with me! Can you believe that!!!!

Just a little excited over Taylor Swift!
New pink helmet to match her pink bat! You can still be girly and play softball, tee hee! Uncle Jeremy is going to try and airbrush her name on the back of the helmet :)
Grandma and brother Tristin were there as well. And so was Lance and Charasten. Tristin really has Grandma's smile in this pic! And boy does he look older!!!!

I had never done a shaker card before, believe it or not! And they are so FUN and easy!!!!
We are going to do this as a project for an Extension Club that I'm presenting for :)
If you want directions, just leave a comment with your e-mail address and I'll forward them to you.

I can still dive for the ball....

but these ol' bones are telling me to never do it again tonight!!!

A friend asked if I'd join her women's volleyball team and I, of course, said sure! I love playing! Well, after my first game tonight in 3 years, my body is telling me that I should have thought twice about agreeing so quickly! My daughter, who was watching (or laughing) on the sidelines, told me later that I dove for a lot of balls. And she added, and you missed most of them! Ok, my mind says "Go for it", but my legs don't move as fast as they used to. At least I have a week to walk it off and ice my arms!! By next Tuesday, I'll be thinking, this ain't so bad, until I start diving again....................................

Unit Meeting

It's cold, wet, icy days like today that I wish we didn't have a dog that we had to take out for the bathroom!! Not having a complete fenced in backyard means taking him out on a leash so many times during the day. Not that I usually mind, but when it is cold out (11 degrees).... I do :(

Had our Heart of the Lamb unit meeting today! A huge thank you to Leah and Holly for braving the cold and coming to join me in my "dungeon"!! And to Liz who tried, but the roads were just to icy to make it to GI, this morning.... thanks for the effort! We had fun creating with the Aspen paper and discussing the upcoming Operation Smile crop next Saturday. Still have available spots if you are interested in coming. Holly
